32 M SDRAM DIMM reading 16M

I have a 32 Meg SDRAM DIMM in my system. It is showing up as 16 Meg. It used to read as 32 Meg. Is it possible for half of the memory to go bad? Any ideas?

chip can go bad...this is whats probably
happened
