Reaching way ahead of my knowledge base I put a SCSI adapter card in my board and loaded the drivers for a SCSI CD-ROM I recently acquired. Now, when I boot I get the following message: "CD-ROM Device Driver Version 5.03 for ASPI Copyright (C) Matsush!ta-Kotobuki Electronics Industries, Ltd. 1990-1994 All rights reserved. Device Name=MSCD000 Supporting the following units.
Interface board or CD-ROM drive is not ready. Insure that drive power is on and drive cables correctly attached. (A)bort or (R)etry?"
I would just like to remove the entire thing at this point. So, the question is, how do I get rid of this stuff in my DOS program?

You've mentioned DOS, but I assume your using Win95/98.
edit the config.sys and autoexec.bat file to remove any lines referencing the CD drivers. This can be done simply by typing-->
msconfig
from START/RUN, then selecting file and removing the corresponding line by unchecking the box in front of it.
If your're using Win95, MSCONFIG might not be available, so instead, type--->
sysedit
Remove the line(s) or just type-->
REM
in front of it to prevent loading the driver.
I think the problem is actually the installation of the driver. It isn't necessary unless you using the drive under DOS for something. Most people don't install DOS drivers anymore. The only drivers that are needed is the most recent ones for your SCSI card. That's all. Download them if you haven't already.
In order for the scsi cd-rom drive to work, there are three basic things to consider besides the physical installation of the card and drive.
-Termination of the last device, on the given scsi chain. The proper termnation of the card (usually it will auto-terminate itself; CD drives will have an jumper in the back).
-The setting of a scsi ID for the device. (the card usually defaults to ID#7, so you can leave the cd-rom at it's default factory setting if that is the only scsi device)
-the installtion of the scsi card drivers.
