Yes this is a rag.. but rightly so... I found myself suckered into trying this as a addon to my other IE toolbar i use ( google ) , and the darn thing is just as i suspected from the start. Bug ridden.., foul system quirks and registry entries that have about twenty extra non needed entries.. that does mess with your computer.. ( I ran a good registry know program and it found like twenty or mor entries that were wrong ..a bad installer and other )

What is the heck is the matter with those people at Yahoo and AOL for that matter.. all the same. Just a bunch of bafoons and suspicious as all get out for sure...

I've learned my lesson.... How about you??

Rabbit, this is all you need:

http://www.physorg.com/newman/gfx/news/Firefox-logo.png (www.mozilla.com)

It has everything you could possibly need and more: tabbed browsing, popup blocking, integrated google search, and awesome plugins such as ad blockers and mail notifiers, weather updates and more.

Rabbit, this is all you need:

Opera :)

FF has memory issues and can result in crashes.

Opera is also well known to be the most secure browser.

I bought a license for Opera V6 and renewed for V7. I have stayed with it ever since. I tried FF, and I’m sure it is good and I liked what I saw. What I didn’t like was the crashes, that are known to be caused by FF and widespread, and the slow but sure memory hogging that ensues the longer it is used within a Windows session.

Haaaa hah hahah! Geeze guys.. I'm talking about browsers.. I have the latest Firefox, and Avant and also use IE. Its just the toolbar for Yahoo. Every time they come out with some new addon or product.. i get problems and registry nighmares. I know its ot me..
I bet if you looked through any of the best known tech journals, somebody would have written something about this or thier issues.. I always read negative things about AOL. I just tried it becaue i signed up for an extra email account, and thought it would be a convenient connection to that...

Somewhere ., somebody loves it.... even though they obviously are far mor computer illiterate than me.. and i am not that C.I.

I do like alot of the FF features.. and it only gets better. IK esp. like the DL manager menus and the way that works.. very nice. You guys probably use more of some features tha i do...

Yes and many of the features used by FF and IE etc came from Opera Rabbit.

Bruce, I use Opera, harden it from a security perspective and that is it. I don’t need or want any customisations and add-ons.

I use one skin and that is it.

G,

Do you know of an Opera skin that looks a bit less flashy than the default one? I've downloaded Opera to try it out, but am so used to the default Firefox theme that this Opera theme seems too much for me.

*Edit*

I just figured out there was a "windows native" option ;)

G, by customization, I mean little things, like being
able to move the Toolbar Position or Add / Remove
Buttons on them .. nothing major

See MJ, all the options are in there; just have to look for them ;)

Bruce, Opera can do this too.

Tools>Appearance>Buttons

You can delete buttons and add them once this panel is up.

Right-click to remove a button from the toolbar, and to add a button drag-and-drop from the button panel to the toolbar.

For all your Opera needs :)

It took a bit of playing with it .. now I got all my buttons on 1 row
where they should be .... Now if there was a way to move or resize
the Google Search box ....

What impresses me is how fast it is. usually in most browsers we get some random additions(s) to the browser like some added feature here and there, but rarely a whole new menu interface that is not only simple but has more features than anything to date.. personally.., i think its quite simple enough for the design feature and not fancy at all.. just right. I can open my hotmail.. BAM! its open. it automatically imported my IE favorites... and it also has an even better downloader for files or software like FF, but nicer and maybe even faster there also.

Pure and simple.. This company should win an award for thier efforts..LOL

FF has memory issues and can result in crashes.

G, I have been using FF since day 1, and I have yet to have it crash? Just curious if you could be a little more specific. Thanks.

I was helping a neighbour for free as she was having problems. She was using FF. I used it and liked it. I had never using it before but is was plain and simple. Just how I liked it.

I decided to install it on my machine as Genie-soft users in the forums I moderate use it to so it made sense simple to have Opera, IE and FF available.

The problem was FF caused IE and FF to crash. This was well reported and it not a biased browser opinion. It may have been fixed since then.

Moreover, the longer FF was in use the more memory is accumulated. On closing the FF the memory was not reclaimed, as far as I know.

For this reason I uninstalled FF as I couldn’t use it with out problems.

Whether there is any point in installing it again I’m not sure. Opera is far more feature rich and secure. So why would I want to install FF. I’m stuck with IE, although I know a way of uninstalling it.

For me the best browser is Opera V9.02

No crashes yet with Firefox .. though it does take
about 15 seconds or so to open initially .. otherwise fine
