Problem connecting to wireless with Mac filtering

So, my buddies and I set up our router with a WEP key and everything.

Well, the Xbox live, and one PC (running XP) are able to access the router when using the Key.

But my PC AND my Mac are unable to access the router. My Mac tells me it can't access the network after I enter the Key. My PC just doesn't do anything when entering the Key, it just keeps asking me to connect or work offline and when I click connect, it won't access the Web.

I am using OS/X 10.4, and XP pro. This is not the first router that has caused this problem.

Can anyone help? Because Dlink is a bunch of morons.

So, I was able to get my Mac connected to our router wirelessly through MAC Filtering (don't ask about Wep or WPA, it was the biggest hassle).

But now I can't get my laptop to connect through Mac Filtering. The Mac and Name are entered correctly, it just won't connect. Can anyone offer some help?

And of course, I need my laptop connected, because we need to connect our Xbox :)

you need to have SSID broadcast enabled on the router for XP to see it.

And of course, I need my laptop connected, because we need to connect our Xbox Do not know what that means? If you do not have straight regular connection you should clarify what it is that you do have.

What I meant was I need my laptop so I can access the router and set it up to allow the Xbox. Nothing fancy, just accessibility is all.

As for Broadcasting. If I can see the router listed, wouldn't that mean it is enabled?

Are you in a catch22? I.e. you do not have a wired computer connected to the Router and you and can not access the Router from the Wireless?

If it so, you need to hard reset the Router, set the Laptop back to default configuration and configure every thing from scartch.

You said reset it in reference to the WEP, but the WEP didn't work at all no matter what I did. Resetting it or not.

As for the Catch 22, no. We CAN, but the computers are upstairs or next door, and the router is downstairs.

My laptop can connect hardline, except the clip in the port broke and you literally have to hold the cord in, which comes loose VERY easily.

use a matchstick or a folded piece of paper to hold the plug in place while you acess the setup page and make your configuration changes!

Take the wire to a repair shop and have them put on a new end. I make my own cables with a crimper tool and blank ends. It takes 5 mins.

The wire isn't the problem. It's the port on my laptop.

Not a hard reset with the button, but yes I did restore the defaults at one point.
