Hi Guys,

I have a Toshiba Notebook (Satellite) with 30g of HD.
suddenly when I boot the compter, I got a BLUE screen and
"C000021A unknown hard error"

since then, i can not boot. I purchased new HD 80g and installed XP prof. SP2
then i bought apadtor to connect my old HD which has problem and connect to my computer using USB. OS can detect "new hardware" but can not read the contents of HD.

Can someone help me how to recover the data from my old HD.
any software to use?

thanks.

Henry

so it WAS a bad drive. reply to your other thread next time.

if the drive can't even be detected, then there's not much you can do. you can try shipping it off to a data recovery service like drivesavers.com

The critical structures of the partition may be damaged, e.g., Master Boot Record and in particular the boot code.

This will mean that the volume is not readable.

You may be able to use a recovery program, such as GetDataBack, to recover data though.

Why have you “not” got a backup program?
