Here's the deal. Have a GA-586TX2 Board with the latest Bios Flash. The board supports 72 pin SIMM modules/72 pin DRAM modules and 168 pin SDRAM modules. Can't get the SDRAM to work. I have 2 168 pin slots. Put in a 64 meg PC100 8ns stick and the system just sits there??? The manual doesn't say anything about the SDRAM support or settings.
~Use 4/8/16/32/64/128 MB 60~70 ns SIMM module DRAM.
~8~256 MB DRAM size.
~Supports Fast Page/ EDO DRAM access mode.
IF it only supports 60~70 ns then what are the 2 168 pin slots for?
HELP????????

Now there is one thing 168 pin DRAMS are refered to 66MHz SDRAM chips. You can't put PC-100 SDRAM chips on that motherboard.

I had the same problem with an ATC-1020+ board. It would not boot with PC-100. You need a new motherboard that suppports PC-100 or 168 pin DRAM for your motherboard that runs at 66MHz.

Use combination 0f 8/16/32 MB 3.3V SDRAM
just found that on another site. I put in a stick of 64 meg...the slots appear to only support up to 32 meg sticks per slot and only 66 MHz. Oh well. Anyone have some EDO Ram for sale????????????? Using some FPM ram in it now. Figured EDO might give it a boost.
