Back when I had a cable modem, I was able to run a webserver behind my router by setting various port forwarding options -- you know, the usual stuff. Well, now I have a satellite broadband connection, and the modem itself has a LAN IP of 198.162.0.1. I can connect the modem to my router's "Internet" port, and then connect my PC to one of the 4 PC ports, and viola! I have internet access.

However, I'm not sure if I'll be able to get to my webserver from outside of my LAN now. I can get to the stupid modem's "setup" page, but can't get any further into my network (because the modem won't port-forward? :confused: ). Is there anyway to connect all this stuff to where the modem and router know to forward port 80 requests to my webserver? Here's a summary of how it's setup now.

[Modem: WAN {dynamic}/LAN 192.168.0.1] ---> [Router: WAN 192.168.0.2/LAN 192.168.1.1] ---> [PC: LAN 192.168.1.100]

Note that the modem says it supports NAT and DHCP. I will (...would like to...) have multiple PCs connected via the router.

Help!

There are many websites that will report back your Internet side IP address. I suggest you use one of them. Here are a few:

http://www.whatismyip.com/
http://ipaddressnow.com/
http://megawx.aws.com/support/faq/software/ip.asp

Unfortunately, I can't help you setup port forwarding. Have you tried calling tech support for your satellite internet provider?

Your modem appears to be a combo modem/router. You can either set it to "bridge" mode so that it functions as a modem only, or you can disable DHCP on your router and plug the modem/router into the LAN side of the router which will now, in effect, be acting only as a swiitch.
You should google a manual for the modem/router.
