A friend installed this for me yesterday. It works...but rather slow. I noticed there is a firmare upgrade available that may help.

I cannot access the router by typing in http://www.routerlogin.com, http://routerlogin.net or any other combo. Tried with Firefox and I.E. and all security programs ( Norton ) were disabled.

Cannot access it by http:// I.P. adress either 192.168.1.2

I can Ping it and can access the internet from my PC ( where installed ) and the laptop.

Just can't do the firmware upgrade to see if performance is impoved. My signal strength downstairs with my laptop reads poor. I am approximately 30 ft away.

Any Ideas?

The correct IP will be:

192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1 (depending on how it as set up).

They both time out in I.E. and Firefox. The network is recognized in Zonelarm Pro. I turned ZA off, set it ( network) to trusted. Nothing.

DO NOT DO A FIRMWARE UPGRADE WIRELESSLY. you will brick the router.

OK... I have only tried it from the main PC that I installed it on. I have had no luck getting into the router to make any changes.

do a full reset of the router then. if you can't get into the default settings and you don't know the new settings, then your last option is a full reset.

Did a reset. Held button in for 10 seconds or so. Now I get the prompt for network name and password when I type in either the IP or routerlogin. It does not recognize one or the other or both.

When I set it up initially, I printed out my network name and password on paper. So, I know I am entering it correctly.

Not sure what gives here?

Nevermind, I forgot about the default name being admin.
