Is it true?.. I've heard that AMD processors and Riva Tnt cards don't like each other very much. I just upgrade by processor from a pentium 233 to a AMD-k2-400 and is experencing radom lock up/hangs. First i thought it was my video driver.. but it wasn't(2.17)Please help me. Im also using a fic 503+, the new version..
Oh, yeah im using the CL Riva TnT card.

I haven't heard that. What OS are you using? If it's Win95, make sure you install the AMD patch for processors over 350mhz using Win95. You can find it at the AMD website. Also, triple check those jumper settings on the FIC motherboard. It's has to be the most complex board I've ever seen.
Hope this helps.

I have a K6-2 on a 503+ with a TNT2 and no problems. But it was kinda a headache until I got everything "dialed in".
Make sure you have the latest bios for your 503+.
Make sure you have the latest VIA drivers for the m/b's chipset. (new release of these just a few days ago at www.viatech.com/drivers/ (http://www.viatech.com/drivers/) ) and remember to install the AGP driver in normal mode (not turbo).
You can experiment with drivers, but I'd recommend the reference drivers 2.08 (or 3.53).
Also, some of the settings in the bios gave me a major pain until I got'em figured out. Some of these settings (if different than indicated here) will cause all kinds of problems (from Windoze not loading to random & mysterious lock-ups). So go into you bios setup and make sure your settings match these:
video shadow ram: DISABLE
video bios cachable: DISABLE
SUSTAINED 3T WRITE: ENABLE
And these settings seem to work for me:
DRAM PAGE MODE: DISABLED
...sustained 3T write: ENABLE (<<< important)
write cache pipeline: DISABLE
read around write: DISABLE (<<< important)
DRAM pipeline: DISABLE
AGP 2x: DISABLE (you can try enabling this after you get it stable)
AGP spread spectrum: DISABLE

well, what card are you using. I'm running a CL 3D Blaster Riva TNT2. I also run an AMD K62/380. Works fine for me. Of course, I run the latest drivers from creative labs. It says they're based on the nvidia reference 2.08 drivers.
In any case, they work fine for me. If you want to try different drivers, go to the following site to get them. Just make sure you change your adapter to vga FIRST, and then from there change to the "new" drivers!
