Crackling Sound with SBLive and 3D-Acceleration Enabled

Hi,
I am trying to understand why this happens. When I play any game, whether it be Fifa 2000, Thief, Dungeon keeper in D3D mode, etc, I get crackling sound with certain sound effects, and in Fifa 2000, every sound affect is accompanied by crackling. The weird thing is that this only happens when D3D or OpenGL is enabled. This never happens in Software mode. Could this be some sort of conflict? I have a TNT video card, and a VIA motherboard with all the latest drivers. (2.08 Detonator drivers for video card) I also have the latest Liveware version for my sound card. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I read a review of the Live card, where the reviewer said the card got interference with some applications (maybe ones that use 3D acceleration). He moved the card to another PCI slot and the problem went away. It may be something to try if all else fails.
