Well, I finally had my first real experience with MS support. I purchased a MCDST training book that contained an evaluation version of XP Pro. After installing it, I went to activate it, as it is only good for 14 days (120 days after activating). Since the system is not hooked up to the internet, I called for the activation code. The one given me by the automated voice did not work, so I called them back. I sure this call went to India. After getting a new code that did not work either, I was tranferred to a Tech Support person. I could barely hear her and the Indian accent was WAY Heavy. Needless to say, she told me my legitimately purchased version that came with my legitimately purchased book was not legal. Go figure. She gave me some pay for incident web address. I'll try again tomorrow. I now know why there are so many negative comments about MS. I am now an offical member of the club!!

Just got off the phone with them myself, they are definately foreign.
I had a compaq with a bad HD and the restore partition on the HD, had to install clean and call it in. These kind of calls never get finalized by the computer voice, always get kicked to a "real" person. Sometimes you can hear them, sometimes you cant. I write the numbers down and repeat them as I do, seem to get them right that way.
