Heres the whole scenario....A generic PCI Bridge driver back fired on me and messed up my device manager rather badly, so instead of picking through the mess I just reformated(was due for one anyway http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif. Well I got all my driver loaded in and all was looking good so I flashed my bios to the latest Award version that i know of (A06)....rebooted and started loading proggies. Well I loaded a game that only showed my system with 15MB of ram! I actually have 98MB and some change and the initial ram count shows it all there. So I go into Windows (95) and check out the performance that Win95 has listed and it too is only showing 15! Then I go to check cmos settings and sure enough its only showing 15 as well even though the initial count is the full 98. So I flashed my bios back to the original version and it made no dif. I must admit...this one has me whooped.I've tried a diff bios versions, even reformatted again, and basically everything I can think of....any love out there ?

Check in the BIOS if the AGP aperture size (aka the memory assigned to the video card) isn't set too high. If you have an integrated video card and the video memory is set to high it will steal all that memory for itself.

Well I dont have an AGP card. Its a BCM mb, with the triton 430tx chipset. I have an AMD K-6 MMX 300 cpu...ummm......66mhz bus lines http://www.sysopt.com/forum/frown.gif
a run of the mill Creative Labs 56k modem and a crappy generic sound card. The vid card is a pci voodoo3 2000 (16mb) and I guess thats about it as far as the HW goes. I just flashed my bios back 5 versions and walked it up to see if there might be some older files that would copy over a possible screwed up bios file but no joy. Im at a loss http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif *screams* Please help me !!!! What good is a computer if ya cant play games on it!!?? http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

You have probably already taken out and reseated your RAM, but if you have not, do so.

Have you reseted your BIOS after the flashing? If not do so, its through a jumper or remove the battery... some times this creates problems.

OK I've taken out the battery, jumped the CMOS cler jumper and neither one of those worked either. Heres another thing Ive noticed.....whenever I flash the BIOS or when I cleared the CMOS memory and go to load in the defaults its showing all of my ram in the settings, but once I load the settings and reboot and go to check it its back to the 15MB. Hmm....anyone know where I can just buy another bios chip? I doubt Best Buy or Cmp USA carries em huh? And by the way....thanks guys for trying http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

As far as I know I have found only one site on the internet that sells BIOS chips. Here is the link if you want to buy a new one:
