ok, not sure what is going on. A friend of mine just put together a new system.
win 98
pentium III 450
64 pc100 8ns ( supposedly)
sound blaster live
cd-rom
etc.
anyways, the system just randomly locks up... can be anywhere and it will just lock up... he believes it might be the ram. Bios detects it at 60ns he has told me? Is that correct for pc100???????? or is it thinking it's EDO?

what mobo do you have?

EDO ram is 60ns.Make sure the bios is set for sdram-10ns.Also, set cas latency to 3 in the bios.If this doesn't work you probably have edo ram.
