and you just have to love the way EA releases updates to their games in the form of "expansion packs" or "booster packs"

EVen more amusing is the fact that said packs dont even change the gameplay in any noticabel way

Just look at BF2142, its basically BF1942 (a game thats gotta be about 5 years old now), with updated models and and updated GUI and a few new maps

Yeah, EA is not one to put much R&D into their games... The NFS series is the same way. Same old engine being used in several of them with slightly updated models and maps.

Im in the BF 2142 Beta and yes Jakk, its the SAME!! New vehicles, new maps and a new mode, thats it! The rest is the same.

I like BF2 apart from the fact das EA/DICE are useless when it comes to patches but i dont like BF2142 at all and i wont spend 40 Euros for such a game!
