squiggly pictures on browser pages....help!!!

Since i re-installed my Windows98 from scratch to my new hd i have been getting some scrambled pictures on my downloaded pages.
not the whole page only parts or just some pictures like the "message icons" for this post. they are a blob of squiggly lines and colors.

I am wondering if it is something in my settings in my modem or in the Explorer options.

Tell us about your monitor, computer and give us specifics about your video adapter card.

My initial suspects would be that you have your refresh rates set improperly for the resolutions your monitor supports and that the high-rez graphics of certain objects are freaking the system out.

I'd also have to bet that you lost a few of your video driver components when you migrated to the new hard drive. - reinstalling the video card driver and reselecting your monitor may resolve the issue for you.

I believe that is it.
I don't know much at all about the refresh rates or changing them so you may have to be specific.

Do the graphics look the same if viewed in a photo editor?

I had a problem like that and it turned out to be my fonts folder was corrupted - believe it or not.

how do i fix fonts folder?

dont have photo whatever...


it isn't a consistent problem, only some of the things are squiggly.

right now only half of the icons are squiggly
