Trying to set up a second modem on my computor so i can try for some extra bandwidth.
The only cord i have in the house at the moment is a 25 pin one so i'm "trying" to hook the modem in through the printer port. Only catch is it can't seem to find the modem.
When i try a manuel install of the modem it gives me the option of selecting lpt1 but when i check the settings under device manger it only lists com1 as a selectable port.
Also under the port properties for lpt1 it's missing the tab for port settings(bits per second etc.) I'm pretty sure this is my problem but i'm not sure how to fix it. Any idea's?
I'm running a celeron at 417mhz on a Abit BH6 board. Com1 currently has my backup mouse on it and com2 is disabled due to a conflict with my old network card. And i'd have to wait a day or two to get another cord down to me anyway.
So anyone have anyidea's so i can see if i can make it past 33.6kb sec?
