I thought I had ordered a sata dvd rom ........ Turns out it was ide ...... Ahh well fer £23 ya can't complain (ASUS DRW1608P +/-) ..... I mentioned to a few ppls that I was expecting a Sata Optical & they went woo ya don't want one O' them ........ So the word on the street is they ain't too good ....... Anyone got any enlightening news for me that expalains why ?

I also got (cos I was nosey & wanted a look) a IDE to sata converter..... My mobo hasn't arrived yet , so I was thinking of using that on my ide dvd ...... Good plan ? :t

right now it's better to use an IDE DVD drive. OEMs haven't quite gotten up to speed with SATA DVDs. Even Plextor's drive has an internal IDE to SATA converter.

Well the sata adaptor/converter doesn't seem to work ........ I guess its all turned out well in the end ......... :D
