I gotta 180Gb Maxtor Sata drive OEM
Whats the lil jumpers for? ....... I didn't understand what was printed on the drive label :(
Ohh do sata data leads carry power too ?

SATA drives don't have master/slave jumpers, so I'm not sure what the ones on your drive are for... Given your track record, I'd just leave them be if it works OK :D
And no, SATA data cables don't carry power too. You can buy combo cables that combine the two, but you'll have to plug that into a molex.
Newer PSUs have SATA power plugs, or you can buy a molex->SATA adapter.

3G drives have compatibility jumpers sometimes.
you can't have a master or slave if there is only one drive per cable. :p

Jumpers on SATA hard drives are for the 1.5G to 3G compatibily. Or 3G to 1.5G.
In other words, if your hard drive is a 3G and your motherboard only accepts 1.5G, then you would move the jumper on the hard drive to change from 3G to 1.5G. So the hard drive would be compatible with the motherboard.
