If you use a bridge as in two Linksys WRT54GL routers (one as a WAP and one as a bridge).

or you could just buy a a Wireless bridge.

from what I've seen, you can only bridge certain waps to other waps. you probably can't bridge waps from 2 different companies.

putting a wap in bridge mode might disable the ability to take wifi clients. I.E. it can only be used as a bridge and not an access point. That varies by manufacturer so RTM.

why the heck do you want to do this in the first place?

Two options.

1. Two Access Points (AP) set as Real Bridge.

The above is the option used by the Pro. However, the two APs would only talk between themselves. All APs can do it

2. A regular Wireless Cable/DSL Router (or an AP) connected to another regular Wireless Router (or AP) that can work in Client Mode (consumers Bridge/WDS) very few Wireless Routers can be configured as clients.

More about the issue.
