I cant find any video charts that have comparisons between these 2 cards so I was wondering if anyone could tell me the performance between the 2?

The 6800XT performs about equal to a 6600GT. A 6600GT is about 20% better than a 9800 Pro, so it will be quite a bit better than a 9800SE.

ok so I was able to get a computer on ebay..a 3.6Ghz, 1gb ram, 160gb hard drive..and a geforce 7300...all for $366...I can upgrade to a 6800xt for $79..is it worth it?

are you talking about AGP or PCIe?

The 6800XT is slower than a 6600GT. the 6800NU was more on par with a 6600GT.

I would think the 6800XT would be faster than a 7300GS PCIe, but I'm not sure by how much. The 7300GS is slower than a X1300Pro.

the 9800se is AGP, the 7300 and 6800 are PCIe

so you mean that you are trying to compare your old 9800se to your new system's card? clarify that next time. I never heard of a 9800se PCIe before, so it was a bit confusing.

I would go for a 7600GT PCIe if I were you.

sorry I didnt think to specify that...the 6800xt was the only option I was given to upgrade to, but I can always sell the 7300 when I get the computer and buy a 7600GT

That might be a better idea. the 7600GT is a pretty sweet card for that price range.

both are 256mb, the radeon is AGP and the 6800 is PCI-e

PCI-E is faster then AGP, its just a matter of what slot your motherboard has, no point in buying PCI-E if you have an AGP motherboard unless you plan on switching both

the board has both an AGP and PCI-e slot
