I believe that pc100 ram will run just fine at the 66 FSB speed. However, you cannot run a stick of pc100 and pc66 (hehe.. i dong' think it's called that) at the same time. like I said though, i'm not positive z oops, I just assumbed that you'd be oc'ing the setup, Dr.D is right though, there's really no point in buying pc100 if ur not gonna OC the system. On another note though, he's also right about the voltage thing, but if I remember correctly, the newer RAM is running at a much lower voltage then older RAM, soooo... it really depends on what you've already got [This message has been edited by zskillz (edited 12-09-1999).] drdeath 12-09-1999, 03:56 PM i dont know what fsb a celry 400 runs at, but if it is 66, then you can use pc100 ram, but it will only run at 66 mhz. you would basically be spending extra money for nothing, unless you plan to upgrade to a 100 mhz fsb cpu in the future. also, you can mix pc100 ram and pc66 ram as long as they use the same voltage, but again, the pc100 ram will only run at 66 mhz. my advice would be to buy the pc66 ram (if the celry runs at 66 fsb) or, the better idea is to buy a celry 366 and o/c it to 550 and then you can use pc100 ram with it cuz the fsb will be 100. thats my 2 cents worth.... Susan 12-09-1999, 04:31 PM Celerons run at 66, and PC100 is backwards compatible. emcron 12-10-1999, 05:43 AM That is true that if your not going to overclock then you should by the 66MHZ but arent the 66 and 100 MHZ priced about the same. The last time I check they were pretty much the same. And if he is going to upgrade in the future then he should go for the PC100. [This message has been edited by emcron (edited 12-10-1999).] Susan 12-10-1999, 06:11 AM An even better upgrade path would be to get PC133 since a stick of 64M at Pricewatch is only $7 more than PC100. drdeath 12-10-1999, 06:15 AM im not sure what the prices for this stuff is now - i havent had to buy ram in a while!
