If you have a "degauss" button on your monitor, press it the next time you see the wierd colors. Sometimes just turning the monitor off/on will correct the problem.

It could also be a by-product of over-over-clocking a video card. My Voodoo3 went all spuggly (I love that word) when I tried 190MHz http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif

Are these followed by Windows problems? Sometims Windows corrupts a database or two before it fouls up. These wierd graphics may be a sign of a bigger problem.

yeah...sometimes Windows screws up on something like that and messes up the video drivers.
To fix that (if that is the problem) simpy reinstall the video drivers.

you might wanna check your plugs in back also, if all the connectors are not in properly, you will get strange color combinationss. Also, the board could be fried.

the wierd colors and strange looking icons are probably a sign of either a dying card or monitor, or even possibly a bad monitor cable. Where I work, most of the time it is a bad monitor or cable. For the icon problem try going to tweakUI (if you have it) and try rebuilding the icons....

Everyonce and a while my system completely freezes, this usually occurs after the wierd colors or sometimes at ramdom. i mean completely, no blue screen, can't press alt-ctrl-del,nothing works....I just have to reboot it. I still think it's my video driver though. Im going to switch back to the old 2.17 drivers to see if it helps.
