A friend of mine is having issues with her computer. When she tries to install any software, it comes up with the error, "cabinet.dll is missing."
She is running XP Home. Where do I find cabinet.dll, and where do I put it to fix this issue?

Check the pc and see if that file, cabinet.dll is there or not
It should be in: C:\Windows\System32
If not, download it here: http://www.dlldump.com/download-dll-files_new.php/dllfiles/C/CABINET.DLL/5.1.2600.2180/download.html
Put it in that directory: C:\Windows\System32
You may need to manually register the dll file
see here for how: http://www.ss64.com/nt/regsvr32.html
hen reboot and try the install again
Odds are it will now work fine
