I am having an odd RAM problem in that if I do a clean install Win 98 I show 220 meg out of 256 which is fine. I install sound card, CDRW and DVD and there respective software
I lose 100 megs. If I do a selective start up I only regain about 30 megs.

Is my RAM dying or is one of my devices hogging it ... I have no clue?

Defective ram... do you have a normal or intgrated AGP card? How much AGP system memory you gave it?

AGP card is voodoo 3000 ...

i have 2 128 sticks Ram I'l play around and c which is bad
