Hello boyos,

I picked up a Panasonic LS-120 drive at a computer show today. My first attempt to set up a Digital Research/Mitsumi one ended in perpetual failure. Asus P2B, 1006 BIOS...what exact settings do I need to change to make the 120 work the way it's supposed to (bootable)? BIOS has floppy select (3.5, 5.25, none), Floppy disc Controller (enable/disable) and Boot Drive sequence (LS/ZIP, C). Boot Drive sequence is obvious, what about the other two settings? Anything else I should change?

Lazlo, tried that URL 6 times since you posted and all I get is "Connection timed out"....you sure you got it right? Is the site even still there?

What I belive you have to do (as I have done this on my computer) is to set the floppy drives to none. I'm not sure if you have to disable the floppy controller or not... but to enable the bootable, you must tell the BIOS to autodetect what is on the IDE contoller where the LS/120 is (which I assume is secondary slave). Also look for an option such as "Report no FDD for Windows 95" set this option to yes, if you have it... it should prevent you seeing 2 3-1/2 floppy drives in My Computer.

Hope this works for you!

Just ran some tests pitting internal LS against parallel Zip (I know, not a completely fair comparison, but...)

20 meg file: Zip to HD: 7 minutes - HD to LS: 1 minute.

Advertised vs Windows reported capacity:
Zip: Adv: 100M, Win: 95M
LS: Adv: 120M, Win: 125M
