I bought a few new bits ... sound card (s/b Live) cd-rw, dvd, and having some problems mainly with the sound card drivers. I am going to re-install everything fresh including WIN 98 and was wondering the best order to install everything including Voodoo 3000 and controller cards so as to minimise resource problems which i seem to be having?

Begin the vital components: video card, HDD, floppy, etc. just the ones needed to make the computer work and install Win9x.

When everything is working fine then install then the DVD, CDR or CDRW, soundcard and so on. Just make sure to keep track of your IRQs and slots avaible.
