Hi guys, I recently got an Audigy 2 ZS sound card for my pc and I just received it today, hooked it up, etc.

So I listen to music and I notice that I cant turn it all the way up like when I had my headsets hooked up to my onboard sound from my mobo because if I put it all the way up the headsets will make this sound like when you put a microphone next to a phone/speaker

and I tried useing EAX in Warcraft III: FT and it makes a strange noise instead of sounding properly

im useing the latest drivers from creatives site ... could it be a faulty card ? or do you guys experience the same problems too ?

Have not experienced that problem. I'm using Beta drivers right now, and having no problems with them. Try reinstalling your driver. if that doesn't work, then call creative and have them ship you a new one.

yeah it looks like its messed up then :(

I reinstalled the drivers, tried the card in a different pci slot, tried EAX in America's Army and Battlefield 2 and it keeps makeing that annoying noise in every game when i turn EAX on

guess I have to return it

thanks for the feedback :) was wondering if it was only me or a general issue with the card

do that, if the new one still does the same

then you have some PCI conflict with those Shared IRQ ports, and it'll be tricky for you to try to isolate it to one that is not Shared

I got the new card today and WOW it sounds alot better then my onboard sound, the old card was just defective, I no longer hear those wierd noises when the volume is at max or when i turn EAX on

This is most intersting that you brought this up MK.

Just two days ago I remembered that after my clean OS install, I had not done an update of the drivers. So I went ot thier site and now they have it so that you have to download a whole list of other things.. ( at least that is what i got after looking at the page and all else )..

The latest drivers for the Audigy 2 ZS are incorporated for both that card and the Audigy 4 ( been that way for some time now ).

I DL'ed the drivers and other... and then listened to some songs on my 7.1 speaker system, and I do believe the sound is better.. The volume seems crnkewd up some on your dial a meter ( quip ) , but heres the similarity to your problem:

Like you, I now have a hiss or drone sound in the background while using my headphones. This is only when using my headphones.

Now if you go to thier site they specificly say that if your surrent drivers are working OK, then they advise you NOT to DL the latest drivers. WHAT??

Take my word for it. I had these same drivers on my older Asus board ( P4P800 Deluxe) and experienced no problems either way. " that tells me its the mobo issue"

AllGamer may be correct about the IRQ port.. I am going to check into that myself.
