Is it at all possible to use an AGP video card in PCI slot? I don't know enough about computer to know if there exists any sort of converter or something like that.

Thanks in advance

Didn't think so. Just wanted to make sure.
I guess I could ask a related question as well. Is it not possibly to install a new port into a motherboard?

nope. the chipset would need to support the type of port anyway. you'd need to get a new board.

Shoot, that's what I was afraid of.
Well, thanks for the answers :)

:D on a crazy side of things... i was wondering about the same for the PCI-E/X to work on an AGP port :r

i'm perfectly happy with my current System, but could use a Video card upgrade.... and now all the high end cards, are only available in PCI-E, but none of the PCI-E mobos fits my needs :(

Albatron I believe it was, had a PCIE to AGP bridge they were talking about last year. I have heard nothing else on it, and it looked like it would only work with the low profile cards.

Found it, but ti was only to use your AGP with PCIE. Not the other way around. :D

He asked about PCI, not PCIe.

There are PCIe to AGP bridge chips, like the HSI chips on the 6600GTs. I've never seen an adapter card to put a PCIe card into an AGP slot.
