OK, just got my copy of GTA San Andreas for the PC. Loaded up and ready to go or so I thought. The trouble is, certain scenes I have no voices, where they are appearing to talk, no sound. Also, no sounds for when the cell phone rings or the voice that is probably on the cell phone.

The scene near the beginning where they rob the pizza place, once the other guy pulls his gun, no voices, lips move, music plays, guns shoot but, no voices. Is this a glitch, defect or what? I did try to reinstall as well.

I had the same problem. To fix mine, i took out my Sb Live and started using the onboard sound.

You think it could be the sound card? Maybe I'll try updating the drivers.

Before doing that, you could make sure you are running the latest patched version of the game. The initial release of GTA:SA was quite buggy, IIRC.

Well, I'm sure it's buggy, it's fresh out of the box second edition, I'll look for updates. Thanks.

I forgot to mention that the SB Live worked fine with every other game on my system. I tried every patch i could find, different drivers, fresh windows install. Nothing worked. :t

Had the same problem, but it was with halo PC. I figured out that it the SB live just didn't support enough independent channels of sound to produce everything. The Audigy 2 ZS fixed it though.

EDIT: whoops should have read the thread before posting. That does sound odd. :t

Well, I wrote them, they said update sound and video drivers. Did that, same thing. Tried it on another computer, same video card, different sound card ( turtle beach ), same ole thing. Think they just wrote carpy software if you ask me.

FIXED IT. Went into the sound card properties and turned off Hardware acceleration. Works a charm now. Why couldn't they tell me that? ;)

Thanks for the help guys. :t
