wheres slimbrowser? :p

It wasn't worth reviewing :p

Most of the other browsers are based off IE/Netscape engines anyway.

Opera V9 rules. Nothing comes close except FireFox and that is still some way behind.

I've tried FF and there were memory hogging issues that resulted in crashes. I uninstalled it and all was fine.

I'm sticking with Opera - period and no convincing with change my mind.

I’ve been using Opera since V6-7 (paid).

Isn't that the same reply you posted in the other thread? Anyway, I'm very happy for you.

Does anyone know when Firefox 2 is supposed to go live? I'm reading conflicting reports...

It was and I don’t think there is a law against it when it may be applicable.

Better to duplicate when necessary than write some of the dross I read on the boards here nowadays.

Try Opera V9 Fish, better than FF.

Loving Firefox 2 Beta 1 atm.

Only issue i have is that sometimes when opening a page directly from a link, all the menu text/GUI elements go a little bit doo lally

but I switched to Ff prolly two years ago and haven't looked back since. If you're having memory issues might I suggest you look at your system setup rather than blame Ff - I and most others get no such issues.

What I like most about Firefox are the Extensions! You just don't get this much choice with any other browser! The only reason I haven't yet decided to run the Beta is because of the lack of support of one particular extension that I refuse to browse without. ;)

That review is mighty informative for those - like myself - that have no desire to beta test browsers, but it would have been better if they didn't have the fence wedged firmly between their **** cheeks at the end.

I do not yet have FF 2.0, but I did/do like 1.5 fairly well, I am currently running IE7B3 as my default and if I would take the time to use Opera 9 more, I believe it might be the winner.

I recently used Opera 9 to download a Suse 10.1 DVD ISO with it's Bit torrent Feature and it worked very well.

I use IE spell with IE and love that as I am a poor typist and poorer proof reader! ( I spell just fine...ask me! :D )

The lack of a decent spell check option with either FF or Opera is what has always held me back with those two.

Aspell and others have never worked for me, with those browsers.

I am intrigued that FF 2.0 might have a viable spell checker.

(I just used IESpell on this post and found that other than "IE7B3" it was happy with my typing and spelling, but often that is not the case.)

Still don't care for FF or O9; use Sleipnir and Maxthon most of the time. (both IE based although Sleipnir also has a gecko engine). Also use IE7 occasionally.

I have, and it's a good browser. I'll be sticking to Firefox though unless it all goes drastically downhill, I'm just used to it now - I guess it's the same with a lot of software, stick with what you know!

I agree with Strawbs though, the review does "lack a sack" for a lack of a better term - very inconclusive. Although perhaps that's just a reflection of the nature of the browser "market" nowadays, and it really is too close to call :)

It's a shame to be tied to IE. Free yourself with tinySpell (http://tinyspell.m6.net/). It does not discriminate. :)

I'll try it with both, I think that would move Opera to my top spot.... not having tries FF 2.0.

I use them all and they all have thier own uses.

FF is more resource heavy than Opera, i use opera or maxthon on older machines. Avant or shenzbrowser are also good choices.

FF2 is fine but the extension support is not there yet, have to wait for that before I use it too much.

IE7 is nice but it looks an AWFUL lot like FF or opera. Playing catch up.

FF is still my browserof choice but I try to experiment and not be locked into one thing. The bookmarks are very easy to import or use for any other browser but i have not tried the reverse so it may be true as well.
