Hi there,
I've got an abit bh6+Celeron 300A,
with 2 WD hard drives, CL Savage4 32M
video AGP card, Zoom 28.8 modem, MAD16
sound card. From time to time, the
machine won't boot, leaving a dark
screen with blue message box saying
"no signal, check signal cable" on the
Princeton EO15 monitor. I was able to
get it working by removing the AGP card
and put it back and reconnect the monitor.
But this time, it doesn't work.

Please help. I will provide more
detail if needed. Thanks in advance.

Even though you have already done this, try reseating the AGP card. I have had this problem several times and its always been the seating on the AGP video board.

good luck

When re seating cards or RAM, check board stiffness before applying too much pressure.

Thanks for the replies.

I've tried a PCI video card, with the
same result ("please check signal cable")
on the monitor screen.

Disconnected monitor from machine, and
turn the monitor back on, same message.

Maybe it's the monitor?

One thing you could check is if there are any bent or broken pins on the monitor cable plug.

Have to agree with Susan there - might just be best to replace the cable entirely.

Any chance some dust got into the AGP slot the last time you reseated the card?

Have you blasted out the case with some canned air lately? - Dust can be evil amidst PC hardware. I've seen it kill a system, but we're talking hand-fulls of dust in a hand-me-down company computer.
