He's always been a bit "off" - but it sounds like he's finally flipped his lid to me

Quoteing him
When I put a game down, I want to try a new one. Episodic games that offer faster turnaround will inevitably be using a lot of recycled content, walking through the same environments and shooting the same enemies with the same weapons.”This reminds me of HL2 E1 to be honest.

The problem with Rein's comment is that theyre essentially hypocritical.
Look at his last three titles, UT2004, UT2003, UT99 and presently, UT2007.
How in any way have they really advanced the genre beyond their first iteration? Everything about them, from content, environment, gameplay and environment is simply recycles and slapped into an updated engine. In essence, in Ut2004 your still "walking through the same environments and shooting the same enemies with the same weapons" as you were in Ut99... heck there's still more than a passing resemblance to the original Unreal.
Esentially, Reins comments attack lazy game design rather than Episodic content. And to be fair to Half Life 2 EP:1... at least its not just the same game as eight years ago in a new engine, which is exactly how Mr Rein has made his name

Ye guess your right, UT2004, UT2003, UT99 did look pretty much the same with a new shiney body, I never really noticed it. Put that way I guess you have a point. only reason why I said that about HL2 is I wish they had put a few more extra monsters diffrent from the last, I still liked it without a doupt.
