Just got a new motherboard with two SATA connectors for hard drives. This is fine since I bought two new SATA hard drives. But my original hard drive with all of my backup files & data is an IDE hd. What should I do to access those files and bring'em over to my newly built system?
Any suggestions? Get an external hard drive that I can plug this IDE drive into?

Either get an external USB enclousre for $25 or buy an IDE PCI card and plug them in that way. The PCI card would work faster but the USB enclosure is more flexible because you could take the case around to other computers.

hmm... I thought one was for floppy drive and other was for CD/DVD. That may work.

One is for floppy (the narrowest of the three connections) and the two wider ones are for any IDE devie (hard drive, CD ROM, DVD ROM, burner).
You can mix and match all you like.
