Transfer OS to another HD

Make the new drive master and boot off Utilities disc for new HD.

I just asked this question myself a few days ago about my two maxtors that I have...
i have been told that the following works at the dos prompt while still in windows:

xcopy c:\*.* /h /i /c /k /e /r /y d:


the d: is the drive you want to copy the old drive to.

Can anyone offer their advise on this one:?
How can I transfer WIN98 from one HD to the other which is hooked as Slave?
The idea is to discontinue the original HD and replace it with the new one on which the transfer was made on.
I thought about going into DOS and doing copy c:*.* d:\ but that will not transfer the hidden system files.\

A new HD? It probably came with a utilitiy to duplicate one HD to another.

Yes. It i a Samsung 1.6Gb.
I will look into that-
WIll it have to be on the master or slave line?
