[This message has been edited by Gentle Giant (edited 12-03-1999).] deep_sky 12-03-1999, 01:52 PM I just asked this question myself a few days ago about my two maxtors that I have... i have been told that the following works at the dos prompt while still in windows: xcopy c:\*.* /h /i /c /k /e /r /y d: the d: is the drive you want to copy the old drive to. just my two cents.... Futzelman 12-03-1999, 02:50 PM That sounds good. I will try that. If not I go with GG advise. Adios, V Volker 12-04-1999, 12:17 AM Can anyone offer their advise on this one:? How can I transfer WIN98 from one HD to the other which is hooked as Slave? The idea is to discontinue the original HD and replace it with the new one on which the transfer was made on. I thought about going into DOS and doing copy c:*.* d:\ but that will not transfer the hidden system files.\ Cyril Thank you Volker Gentle Giant 12-04-1999, 12:56 AM A new HD?
