Right, so I bought Hitman Blood Money two days ago. I have all the minimum requirements yet even at the lowest settings it is very slow. Everytime I move the mouse to aim it just slows up as though it was at extremely high settings.

My specs are:
1024mb RAM
Radeon 9800 pro
Windows XP
AMD Athlon 64 3200+ (2.21ghz)

Now I'm no computer whizz, but I think I collected that infor correctley.

The minimun specs for hitman are:
Windows 2000/XP
Pentium 1.5ghz or Athlon XP equivalent
512mb RAM
Direct3D 9 compliant cards supporting pixel shader 2.0 (nVidia GeForce FX or ATi Radeon 9500)

Maybe its something to do with the graphics card, but I don't know. Thanks for the help. ;)

I played the demo and my computer specs are fairly high and the game ran slugigsh or slow for me also.

Can't remember if the game is set to adjust for what ever computer you have ( specs ) like some games do.. but screen resolution is a factor ( try it at 800 X 600 ) and lower the refresh rate.

In video properties.. trun off any light shadowing effects.. and adjust anything to dowith lighting if applicable.

Have your video card set for app. controlled in the Video card properties.

The game from what i saw uses more of the latest tech., meaning it might require a newer video card to run at higher FPS. I, myself still have a comperable to yours ( FX5900 ), but a high end CPU and only 1GB ram.

A Athlon 3200 is about equivilent to a P4 2.6-2.8 CPU. That should be OK, but considering its a today game, your specs. are not all that high.

Hitman, and the engine they use is not the best I've seen... A game like HL2 is made to run on last gen. machines and todays also, and giving one the same feel look and close to FPS as higher end machines.

Try searching for any patches for the game..if needed...

From what i played of the demo, I probasbly would not buy it.., regardless of the reviews.

Min. specs. are jsut that. That does not garantee the game will play fast.. ,nor have good FPS ( frames pre second ).

Maybe this might clear some things up for you

I'd say its the video card. The 9800 Pro just doesn't cut it anymore in modern games such as this, CoD2, and GRAW. Games that came out 6 or 12 months ago, it can handle no problem, but it is beginning to show its' age. It could also be that the game engine isn't too optimized.

Thanks for replying ;).

So the moral of this story is, I need to get a new graphics card? Any recommendations?

I wouldn't say money isn't a problem, but I am willing to pay a bit for a graphics.

Thanks again. ;)

Well, for an AGP system, you could get an X800XL, if you could find one. Other than that, it seems it would be time for a complete system overhaul...Dual core CPU, PCI-Express graphics. Thats what I'll be doing very soon, my Athlon XP/9800 Pro setup's days are numbered. :)
