I have bought partition magic and I need to partition my hd so that I can add a dos program ,it will not load as my hd is ,I get a message saying that my primary partition is full,so how do I partition and install my program(PC-DOS 6.1)THis program is by IBM buisness machines and I have to use it in my buisness.I have win 98 on the hd.any help would be GREAT.

I think you have to resize the primary Windows partition first, and create some free space. Then you would create the necessary DOS partition from the free space - probably it has to be FAT16. Finally, you will need some kind of boot loader utility like system commander to toggle between partitions/operating systems on bootup.

In partition magic use Prepare For New Operating System.
Use BootMagic to toggle between operating systems at boot.

CMonster and Gentle Giant are right. You can do it manually, which is resize the first partition to make space avaible for the new one. Then create a new partition with it and format it.

Then install the boot manager from Partition Magic so you can be able to boot from any of the 2 operating systems.

And the other method is the one Gentle Giant suggests and is better for you, since it will make almost all the hassle of cutting and formating.

Just use a boot disk or install disk and tell DOS to install itself on the other partition after finishing creating the new partition and formating it.
