Here we go again people:

EXPECT SHORTAGE OF DRAM, MONITORS
Experts say a shortage of PC monitors is likely sometime next year. Reason? High demand for low-cost and "free" PCs is creating a shortage of 14- and 15-inch monitors. So businesses and consumers are snatching up a plentiful supply of 17-inch monitors. But even the 17-inch supply is likely to dry up by next year. Same story for memory chips. Major vendors have placed DRAM "on allocation," a move that signals an end to a four-year glut and crumbling prices.

Higher Prices!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think the whole free PC thing is a bunch of b.s. Those companies have been dropping down the tubes because there are not enough people dumb enough to put up with all the invasiveness that the "free" requires.

In my opinion, it was all a scam to make rambus, at high prices, acceptable. Rambus is a lemon; doesn't work. I think the monitor thing was pulled because they saw it was working with memory. If you recall, memory prices started going up for no reason in July. Also, the BIG ANNOUNCEMENT for the new future of computing, RAMDUD was to be Sept. 27th. Coincidence?
