Click to See Complete Forum and Search --> : Which GPU is better 256 Mb? AllGamer 06-15-2006, 12:03 AM :t Midknyte 06-15-2006, 02:23 PM none of them are that great. I would probably go with a 9550. I don't see a real need for 256mb with those cores. a 6600GT with 128mb would smoke any of those cards. AllGamer 06-15-2006, 03:30 PM well that's the thing, those are the only available in the same price range, many of them are the exact pricing. and the same card by the same manufacture with less ram is only like 5 to 7 bucks difference (128 vs 256), might as well get the 256 for $5 or $7 bucks more :D all those cards are all below $60 betwen $30 to $50 mostly The 6600 is way over $100 here, and it wont work on AGP2.0, it needs AGP3.0 slots (aka 8x) i'm shopping for AGP 2x/4x cards for my older machines :t BlackTruckRyder 06-19-2006, 01:47 AM I second the 9550 vote. :D AllGamer 06-19-2006, 03:14 PM it's quite interesting... i've always though in this "section" of the vid card category nVidia would have shinne more than ATI the graphics charts over at toms hardware doesn't have much reference on ATi cards compared to nVidia cards for these levels BlackTruckRyder 06-19-2006, 07:22 PM A 9550 is basically a 9600se, with 128bit memory and a slower core clock. I hear they overclock pretty well, if you' re into that :D . SysOpt.com
