HAVE QUESTIONS: NEED ANSWERS

First off, I use the STB Velocity 4400 and Blackmagic2 cards in my machine and was thinking of getting a DVD player. DO I need a decoder card or do the cards handle them(and if so, where are the drivers).

Second, I have a K6-2 300 with a FIC VA-503+ motherboard and the board only recognizes it as a 200. I have checked my jumper settings and they seem correct, but still no dice. And I know AMD made both a 66mhz and 100mhz 300 model, how can I tell what it is? There is no documention on how I can tell.

Please enlighten me!

I believe the 100Mhz buss CPU will have "something 100 somethingelse" on the top of it, and the 66Mhz won't have either 100 or 66 on the top.

I don't know about the DVD thing. But I'd suggest you double check and triple check the jumper setup on your motherboard. I too have a 503+ and it's jumpers can be VERY confusing.

Make sure the jumpers are set for a 100mhz bus and the multiplier is set at 3.0x.

If it's a 66mhz CPU then it probably won't even boot up, and if it's a normal 100mhz CPU then it should boot at 300mhz.

I have this same CPU and motherboard and it has always worked fine as long as the jumpers are set correctly.

I also have a couple of 503+ boards and you must have the jumpers set incorrectly.
