These days alot of us gamers find ourselves useing mouses with more and more bottons on them, now there are high end mouses with 3000dpi+ and 4+ bottons on them available to gamers
so I was wondering what type of mouse does everyone out there have on their pc ?

yep way more than that :t
1. up, down, left, right
2. scroll
3. page down, page up
4. button 1, button 2, button 3
5. copy, paste, delete
6. Enter
and all of those can be re-assigned to anything else i want
so technically speaking my Logitech Lazer have...
14 button :x

Mine has 4 + scroll, its a Logitech CLICK! mouse. I try to keep it simple. :D

minor correction....
1. left, right
2. scroll (up/down), doubles as button 2
3. button 1, button 3
4. page down, page up
5. copy, paste, delete
so it's actually 10 buttons, still kinda crazy :D

I like my somewhat standard 4+Scroll mouse.
Left and Right click for obvious reasons
Scroll wheel for page scrolling, and pushing it as a button for new tabs
2 side buttons for forward/backwards
For gaming can configure the 5 buttons (can press scroll wheel) plus whatever the scroll does (usualy change weapons, etc)

Micro$ intellemouse explorer- 5 assignable buttons in my right hand. I dont tyoically use more than 3 + scroll in games as I switch between (pick one); keyboard, a lefthanded number keypad or a gamepad(nostromo) depending on; the room availiable, which game I'm playing, whether I'm at home or at a LAN party, and whether I want to switch watever is plugged in at the time.
Enjoy!

My MX1000 Logitech has a lot of buttons....
On that note, I am too lazy to count how many it has.

I am using a MX-518 which has 7 buttons plus scroll, I am not sure that all are programmable, as i do not do advanced gaming.
My Mx-1000 only has five buttons plus scroll, but the scroll (like the 518) can be depressed for auto-scroll, and on the 1000 it has a "wobble" scroll thas allows scrolling side-to-side.
The Warden has recently had two different Microsoft Intellipoint Explorer 4.0a's fail, she is a power user when it come to the normal left clicker. She preferred the MS ergonomics, but now has Hijacked a MX-510 of mine (Dang her ornery hyde!)
I also bought her a Logitech RX-300 which is smaller for her longest reach computer and less complicated with just two buttons (Would work well as a laptop mouse)
She laments the demise of her MS Mice, but still has two working
I think buttons can be useful with normal windows programs too, if you use them in many of the publishing and formatting features. (I don't, but have seen others do it)

9+scroll up\downactually it's more like 12 in total for the Mx1000!
2x standard, 3x at the left side, 2x button above and below the wheel, Wheel click & 4 way scroll.
:t
edit: that doesn't include the "connect" or "on\off" buttons on the base of the mouse either. :D

the "4 way" scroll is also programmable = 2 extra buttons
that is actuall the Left / Right scroll (2 way)
the up / down scroll doesn't count (not programmable)

I was thinking of getting one of these two mouses for better gaming because the one I have right now only has two bottons and the scroll ... id like a mouse that had extra bottons so i could control shooting, prone, jump, and crouching all with one hand then use right click to zoom/look through gun scopes and left click to shoot
which do you guys think would be a better buy ?

or
Logitech MX1000 (http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/searchtools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1028355&Sku=L23-6408&SRCCODE=BIZRATE&CMP=OTC-BIZRATE) <--- 800dpi
both have their good and bad points, I like that the MX1000 is wireless and the laser looks really really clear but i was reading the customer reviews in newegg and some people say that the chargeing pad stops working after a while
Note: im not ganna buy from tiger direct but I like how they display the pics for products on their site :P

had my Mx1000 for over a year now - still charging fine and the battery life still is at least 6 days.

I can say ditto to Strawbs experience. I got my MX-1000 when they first came out, battery life lasts me longer, but I probably don't use it as much as he does. It must be four or five times longer than my MX-700.

I have the MX700..optical cordless. I cannot tell you just how many other than its like maybe 6 plus scroll. Even scroll has the two buttons for forward and back..., and the middle scroller has push and click..for at least two more i know. I use those.
Mostly, I just do not use most of the other . it has the two side buttons.. and i have never programed anything ( buttons to do anything other than waht they were intended for.
The MX1000 was the very next cordless they came out with and now they have the lastest laser and another corded out so..??
Still, i love this mouse, otherwise i would get another..most preferably the MX1000.

At the Moment Logitech's top cordless is a G-7 and it's best corded is the G-5, incremental changes to the MX-1000 and MX-518. I still have a MX-700 and it is good but the extra heft, lasar, battery life, and ergonomics make the MX-1000/ G-7 a true upgrade over the MX-700.... In my view anyway.

Yeah.. i did get to try a MX1000 mouse out for awhile and i loved it. Much quicker and smoother i think... ( handsome looking too ) Just wish I were into a better finantial picture..so i could get one... but my first buy would be a new Video card. LOL
