The new interface is pretty slick with the "ribbon" and "galleries"

Like the video said, it's geared towards non-power users or newbies. everything is very visual, so i don't think it would take that much time to learn.

I'll bet it takes a lot of firepower to run because of all the graphics and previews on the fly.

yea, but even a newbie that's used to say office 2003 is going to have some issues just cuz it looks different(never mind that it maybe a better way of doing things). and yea, I hope this thing don't eat up half your ram running it..LOL

Any PC that can run Vista should be able to easily tackle O2007.

I like it. A lot of the features are way overdue.

The only thing it doesn't specifically address is
wether or not the user must save files in the newer
format or if the user can still save files as .doc or .xls
or .ppt ... etc, the old way ... also can the new version
open the old type formats ? ? I know there is a compatibility
pack so older versions can use the newer files

Looks nice .. Midknyte said it best .. probably would need
more than 512MB of system ram & a very speedy (at least
2.8Ghz cpu) to run well ... Also no word on how Expensive
relative to current Office Release

I'm running it now and it's quite an improvement if you can let go of old ways. It's structure keeps you from digging through menu's and sub-menu's and "undoing" to find what looks best.

Can the new version still save files in the old office formats ? ?
Or must users now use the new file extensions ? ?

I'm not sure how far back your going but I've not had a problem opening anything from office 2k, officeXP, or office 2003 or old files from works.
It does open them under a heading of compatibility mode though.

Office XP 2002 ... but my real question was wether
you could Save File in the Old Formats or if you must
use the newer files formats
