Free highspeed internet(possible)

I'm so tired of dealing with the frequent disconnect and slowdown of all those free ISPs(netzero,altasvas,dotnow,freepc,etc) and thinking about a transcation to ADSL. US west has a plan of $37.90/month for a 256K DSL, including a free DSL modem and no setup fee. Is that possible for me to pay off the month fee entirely by those "get paid to surf" programs? I'm not a big spammer and can not refer many people under my number. I do leave computer on 7/24 for rc5 client. I'm using 3 banners and haven't received any check yet(only started before a month).

BTW:If i switch my phone line to DSL, can I use my old analog telephone? Do I have to buy a new digital phone?

depending on how much you surf the net with a bar they provide for you will determine how much you get paid. Alot of people think its basically "free" money but it pops up annoying ads at the bottom of your screen the whole time the bar is open and isnt really worth what it pays in my opinion. 2ndly no you do not need to buy a new phone for adsl, hell you can even be an old rotary phone, the adsl operates on the high modulation of your phone line and seperates the low modulation for the phone (it boosts the line and makes it digital so it can do stuff like that ;p)

actually, the uswest dsl is 47.50 a month for 256K - it is $30.00/month for the magabit high speed line, and then 17.50 for the uswest internet access..... you are off 10 bucks, Hai.

and you can use whatever phones you currently have. uswest gives you these little black filters that have regular phone jhack plugs that you plug in between the phone and the wall. hey - dont let them charge you 200 bucks or whatever to have a guy come install it for you! do it yourself! it is VERY easy!!

USWEST has 2 plans for 256K megabit service. I'm considering choose "select connection" which needs to login every time. "deluxe connection" will keep you online all the time and cost $10 more. Although I'm playing internet 30hours+ per week (get addicted), it seems still not necessary to stay online all the time.

i just checked out that page - i didnt even know that they got a new service! ive have mine since like, may or something, and all they had was the 256K delux - there was no select package. so, my mistake /forum/smile.gif either way, tho, i like my constant internet connection, and i think im gonna keep it....
