Audio problems on abit NF8-v pro

Ive had nothing but problems with this abit board Im on my 4th one. This time the audio just gave out. The analog audio works but the digital does not. Im using a fiber optic cable to carry it to my amp. The light is there its just very weak looking at the other end.

Does anyone have experience with this problem?

Can you provide your complete system specs? I'm suspecting power, but it could be drivers or a multitude of other factors.

How do you know the light is very weak? What do you have to compare it to?

A digital signal from an optical cable will be either on or off (light or no light). The brightness of light has nothing to do with the signal.

If you're stuck with that mobo disable onboard sound and go buy a sound card - they're pretty inexpensive.....you've probably spent too much time on it anyway
