i have a pb pulsar 433 with win 98
the problem is the playback of sound of multimedia cds made up of macromedia director protected movies .dcr files. the video playback is fine but the sound is all choppy and segmented this also happens with section 3 whats new of the welcome to windows 98 tour

i have been searching for a cure to this snd i found something on the microsoft site relating to macromedia flash player 3 but never made a note and cannot now find it again. this is driving me mad i have tried several different help areas but to no avail
hoping someone can help here

It's a memory/DMA conflict.....

If possible, try setting your hard drives and CDRom to PIO mode instead of DMA mode. DMA mode on mine can cause choppiness in large video\audio files.

What type of audio card are you running and have you tried updating the driver for it?

You might also try this registry hack:

REGEDIT4

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\contro l\FileSystem]
