Today, when installing a game, the system suddenly seemed to slow down. Upon reboot I noticed my 256k of level 2 pipeline burst cache was not being detected. I can't figure out what to do to get it to show up again. I checked the bios and external cache is enabled. Any ideas?

The same thing happened to my old Dell XPS. Is the L2 cache memory removable?
On most newer boards it isn't. I removed mine, rebooted, shut down & reinstalled it. That worked for a time, but finally the module gave out completely. If it's not removable, you'd need a new mobo if you can't live with the performance drop. You might also try reflashing your BIOS.
