I have an Imation burner which is really a Teac Model W512E. I tried burning SUSE Linux 10.1 with verification, but the verification comes back erroneous and I can't burn the disk. I am have updated drivers which are supposed to be Firware 1.0L However, if I run the updater, I get a message indicating that the CDRW is one that could be updated to 1.0L Nothing new happened after running the updater a couple of times and I am wondering if the problem is I need a driver other than 1.0L? Or if the updater isn't working? Or if something else is going on?

I sent an e-mail to Teac <dspdtsg@teac.com>, but haven't heard from them. Is there a more recent driver than 1.0L for this CDRW? If the CDRW already had 1.0L on it, wouldn't it indicate that?

The drivers for this device are located here -->

CD drives do go bad. Updating the firmware will not help that.
