I have an Amptron PM9100 mobo, latest AMI BIOS, and an AMDK6-2 366MHz CPU. The literature says all the latest mobos and CPUs provide automatic rom shadowing if enabled in the BIOS, which mine is. But Nuts & Bolts' Discover Pro says that there is no shadow on the "rom blocks in memory" - C000-C7FF & F000-FFFF. If I enable the "rom shadowing" attribute in either Emm386 or Qemm386 memory managers, Discover Pro then shows that shadowing is present. In addition, Discover Pro shows a small but consistent increase in CPU performance (1-3%) using a memory manager w/rom shadowing enabled (as oppossed to disabled), and timing benchmarks on the rom addresses also show a speed increase (4X faster). Anyone know what's going on here?
