Hi all!
so I'm putting my new system together:
Abit BP6
2X500 celerons (not OC'ing)
128 meg pc100
stealth3 s540
running NT4 SP4

I hear there are some reference drivers out there for the savage 4 pro that will work for making my system a little more stable. Anyone got a URL?
The problems I am encountering are- system won't boot unless I reset 3 or 4 times (to date the record is 8-very annoying). It freezes at

OS loader 4.01
...

sometimes its 6 .'s mostly its 3 or six but I get some 5 .'s in there as well.

The other curiosity is that when I go into the cpu soft menu, and try to set the cpu to 500(100) it says that the settings for the cpu are incorrect. The Abit manual says the "(100)" is the bus speed, which the mobo supports but she won't go!? Any ideas?
AND ANOTHER CURIOSITY- So I'm thinking, since there are problems, I'll re-install the OS. When I attempt to do that it goes past the ata/66 floppy, re-insert #3 NT boot floppy and then it can't find my CDROM. It found it find on the first install, why not now?

I knew I would be in for some headaches with this system...

I might be somewhere else here, BUT those Celerons are 66 mhz. Not 100 mhz. If you're trying to run those Celerons at 100 mhz, you may have problems. They haven't come out with the 100mhz Celerons yet. Prolly not until sometime next year. This could be your whole problem. Try bumping the mhz back down to 66 and see if that helps. If not, try this Remove one of the cpus. See if the system boots fine then, if so, then you know where to start looking for your problems. Let us know what happens.

Hi!
Yes I have learned recently that that is the case- I thought the "(100)" reffered to the mobo bus speed.
Have also determined that it is not a video issue. swapped out the AGP card and put in my starfighter PCI and still got the same problems.
SO, tonight I try a few things.
1. dismantle the whole thing and recheck clearance on mobo to make sure there are no shorts.
2. Reseat the DIMM (longshot)
3. pull one of the CPU's and give that a shot.
4. set HD delay to 2 or 3 secs. (Got that one from anandtech)
5. swap IDE channel to address problem of CD not showing up when trying to re-install. This ones a long shot because it worked once on that channel but at this point I'm willing to try anything.

Its a bummer 'cuz I heard lots of great stuff about this mobo. more good than bad. And nothing about this multiple reset for boot.
