Hi, I would like to ask what is the best and most accurate benchmarking software for games that is available for free? if it is 3d mark, what free version should I get? Thanks!

You've pretty much got it. 3DMark is the standard utility to use. As for what version, it depends on your hardware. If you've got hardware that is 2 to 3 years old, try 3DMark03 or 05, if you've got brand new hardware, '06 should run fine.

i like to use 3D Mark 2002 SE
it will run on all machines even very old ones
the newer version for 03 to 05/06 only runs in newer machines

06 makes for a great slide show on most machines :)
But yeh 3dmark is the best.
There is also aquamark.
