Click to See Complete Forum and Search --> : Problem w/Winsock I think...could be something else.... I hope :)
The problem I am having is on one machine. And the problem I have is that it won't upload to a certain site. The site says that everything is fine and if I put this software on another machine it works fine. What this software does is that the user puts in some information and then clicks on send and receive. Then the software sends up the info through FTP up to this site. Now the problem I am having is that something is blocking this FTP to get to the right spot. If I go in and do FTP through another program like cute FTP or something FTP works. The tech support guy says that it is a problem with the winsock.dll I D/L the new dialup networking 1.3 but that didn't fix my problem. I am hoping someone here has had a similar incedent and can provide me with some helpful info. I am not wanting to reformat and start from scratch because of the other software on here. It will cost me over $100 to do that.
Any info would help.
TIA,

I often have problems connecting to FTP sites w/IEXX. One problem was I had enabled the "proxy" connection thru AOL for all sites. That worked fine with http sites, but I found it interfered with FTP sites. I also found that using the original version of winsock from the W95 CD gave the least problems with connecting to sites! Out of curiousity I installed the first winsock update, and then had problems. The latest winsock update seems to have solved it, but connections are slower to FTP sites.
winsock updates? Are there someout there? If so where a more direct link would be helpful seeings how MS site is tough to get through. Does DUN1.3 update winsock? I thought that it did it may not.
Thanks
